Radon
Radon is an odorless, colorless gas that enters homes through cracks and openings in basement walls and crawl spaces. It is the second only to cigarette smoking as a cause of lung cancer. The likelihood of any particular home having a radon problem in this area is unpredictable. The only way to know is to test.
Testing
is easy and inexpensive. If levels
above the EPA standard are found, mitigation can often be achieved at costs
between $800 and $1,200. The key is to
test so you have the critical piece of information that can help guide your
decisions on what may be necessary to keep your family safe from this
environmental risk. More information on
radon is available at http://www.epa.gov/iaq/radon
I
am nationally certified for radon measurement and radon mitigation. I can help you determine if a problem exists
in your home or prospective home, and help you decide what steps may be best
for your situation based on your test results.
